Fine Art vs Bright & Airy

Is there really a difference?

The answer to this questions is, YES! Most brides associate bright & airy with fine art and realize after hiring their photographer, that it wasn’t the style that they dreamt of for their wedding. Bright. Airy. Images. That’s how the photographer chooses to edit regardless of their shooting style. They can make the mistake of over exposing the images resulting is lost details on your dress, flowers, and even skin. That’s really important to know! Bright and airy can still be beautiful, but it has to be done correctly and that’s where Fine Art makes the difference.

Fine Art is more then just editing style. It’s timeless. It’s exquisite. It’s intimate. It’s your memories captured on film. Fine art photographers shoot with traditional film cameras which allows us to produce images with great depth, feeling, emotion, and true to life tones. We are more than just photographers. We are stylists & planners with a passion for detail. Making sure your day is captured with emotion and meaning. When you look back at the images 5 years, 10 years, even 20 years from now, you will see that having a fine art photographer was the best investment you ever made.

The Wedding Foundation

First Steps to planning your wedding

Every couple should begin by envisioning their “Theme, Style, and Colors” for their wedding. I have found that this is the foundation to build on and a great way to discover everything else you’ll be needing. Discover your vision and start planning!

LOCATION:

Now that you know the them & style, which venue fits best to make it all come to life? Do you see yourself getting married in a beautiful open field with a barn reception or do you see yourself over looking the California coastline and dancing the night away? This is where you will take a moment together to discover the perfect location. Check to see if that venue has your date available and secure it as soon as possible.

Secure your Venue & Planner first. It is very important to have these two in place before reaching out to other vendors. Planners are very good with taking a lot (if not all) of the stress off your hands. Most planners already have a full list of vendors that they trust to make your day run as smooth as possible. You always have the option of finding other choices too! I get booked through planners & organically from brides searching through IG or publications.

When a vendor see’s you have a date, a venue, and a planner fully booked, they will be more likely to take you serious and a higher chance of being a part of your wedding team.

Vendors

Choosing the right vendors for your dream wedding

If you have chosen us for your engagement & wedding, we’re so excited to be working with you and we can’t wait to get to know you better over the next several months! We know photography is one of the larger investments you're making for your wedding day and we're so honored you chose to work with us!

Even if you're working with a wedding planner or you're planning a simple wedding, there are likely still a lot of moving pieces left leading up to your big day.

Having photographed more than 130 weddings over the past few years, we tend to get asked the same things over and over again. So we thought it would be beneficial if we put together a guide that walks you through everything from timelines to engagement sessions and inclement weather.
